BMW S58 Platform Review
Six S58-powered M3 and M4 examples measured on the in-house Vollux AWD Dynojet—plus a clear explanation of what changes the result, the scope, and the price.
Base pricing does not automatically include DME access or unlock, software licensing, interfaces, additional fuel files, hardware, diagnosis, or installation. We confirm the complete scope before scheduling.
The Honest Verdict
The S58 is a strong calibration platform, but it is not a one-number or one-package platform. A pump-fuel street car, an ethanol-blend setup, and a higher-output hardware build need different plans. We use the vehicle, software, fuel, condition, and intended use to define the right scope before promising an outcome.
Our own published S58 examples finish between 593 and 954 WHP. That wide range is useful evidence: “S58 tune” is not one product with one expected number.
Clear Starting Prices
These packages show the expected starting scope. VIN, software, fuel, hardware, and vehicle condition determine the exact written quote.

What Can Change the Price?
Exact pricing before scheduling: Vollux confirms compatibility, required access, included services, additional costs, and the complete price in writing for the exact vehicle.
Before We Recommend a Tune
Vollux can service, diagnose, calibrate, and validate the car in-house. That lets the recommendation start with the actual vehicle instead of a generic stage label.
Every Published S58 Graph
Showing the complete platform set makes the spread in real outcomes more useful than presenting only the largest gains.
2024 BMW M3
The highest final output in the published S58 set—useful proof of capability, not a package promise.
2023 BMW M3 comp awd
A strong xDrive example that reinforces how widely output can vary within the same engine family.
2023 BMW M4
A lower-output example that is just as important as the headline cars when setting realistic goals.
2022 BMW M3 comp 2wd
A rear-wheel-drive Competition example with a measured 130-WHP increase.
2022 BMW M3 comp awd
The highest published final torque figure in the current S58 set at 876 WTQ.
2022 BMW M4
A 705-WHP example that helps show the space between street-oriented and higher-output builds.
S58 Video Library
This curated library focuses on S58 dyno activity, measured output, and in-house unlock and tuning work. A video is not presented as the same vehicle or setup as a specific graph unless that connection is documented.

S58 Tuning Questions
Not automatically. Access and unlock requirements depend on the exact DME and current software. Send the VIN so Vollux can confirm support and the complete price before scheduling.
Not every supported calibration requires the same validation process. The dyno option is the clearest choice when you want measured output, before-and-after context, or validation of a modified setup under load.
No result should be copied as a promise. The published S58 vehicles differ in fuel, hardware, software, condition, transmission, and goals. Vollux will explain which comparison is relevant to your car.
Year, model, VIN, transmission, current software, complete modification list, fuel, warning lights or drivability concerns, and the result you want from the car.
Vollux does not charge to reflash the same calibration after a dealer update wipes it, provided the vehicle remains supported and the required access is still available.
Timing depends on DME access, software, the selected package, vehicle condition, and whether diagnosis or additional work is needed. We confirm the expected appointment or drop-off window with the written quote.
