Start with your question

Buying your first machine—or replacing a pad?

Compare the HLR 15 kit for a machine purchase, or match replacement pads to your existing machine movement and backing-plate size. Parts can help check the fit.

What is the BigFoot HLR 15 kit?

The HLR 15 is a battery-powered random-orbital polisher. Our Shopify listing is a kit; review its exact contents rather than assuming every RUPES package includes the same batteries, pads or liquids.

Will the yellow microfiber pad fit it?

Check the size, not just the name. Our listed D-A Fine microfiber pad has a 3-inch option; that is not a match for the HLR 15's standard 5-inch backing plate. Ask Parts for the correct pad dimensions before ordering.

Can I swap a rotary wool pad for a D-A pad?

Not by assuming they do the same job. RUPES separates rotary and D-A pad families. Choose an approved machine, pad and liquid combination, then test a small area to judge both defect removal and finish.

Your next steps

Put a compatible polishing setup together.

Choose your supplies, prepare the work area and follow the selected product’s instructions. Use the steps below to plan the job.

  1. Identify the machine and plate

Bring the model and backing-plate dimensions, or send them to Parts. If buying a kit, check its included equipment and consumables before adding duplicate items.

  2. Choose for the actual paintwork

Describe the defects and any existing damage or repaint history. Start with a suitable test spot rather than selecting the most aggressive combination for the whole car.

  3. Inspect before doing more

Clean or change pads as directed, remove residue and inspect the test area under useful lighting. Adjust the process only after evaluating the finish.
