Not every locked controller needs the same process
Some controllers can be accessed through the diagnostic port, some require bench connection, and others must be opened for boot-mode or Boot Glitch access. A smaller group must be shipped to a specialist. We confirm the controller, software version, and intended tuning platform before promising a method or turnaround.
BMW and MINI DME unlocking
Supported older BMW and MINI DMEs can often be unlocked in-house while the customer waits, including vehicles being prepared for MHD or bootmod3. Supported DME8 controllers can also be unlocked in-house. DME9 applications currently require a ship-out process.
- Unlock-only service for customers using a supported third-party platform.
- Direct Vollux calibration is available on supported applications without requiring an MHD or bootmod3 license.
- VIN and controller identification are confirmed before scheduling.
Volkswagen and Audi TCU access
Certain newer DSG controllers—including supported MK8-generation DQ381 applications—need a bench patch before normal OBD tuning is available. Vollux can identify whether the transmission needs an access step, a calibration, or both.
Dodge PCM and GM transmission controller unlocking
Vollux can unlock supported Dodge PCMs in-house for HP Tuners workflows and can handle supported 2017-and-newer GM transmission controllers that require an unlock. Exact controller identification is required; model year alone is not enough to guarantee support.
Specialty ship-out support, including Lotus Emira V6
When an application cannot be completed in-house, Vollux can coordinate an available specialty ship-out process. This includes supported Lotus Emira V6 ECU access through our bFlash workflow and DME9 applications where ship-out is currently required.
Unlock only—or let us handle the entire job
You can use Vollux for the access step only, or keep the project under one roof with custom ECU or TCU calibration and AWD Dynojet testing. On supported platforms, direct Vollux tuning can avoid the added cost of a third-party flash-platform license.
