Start with your question

Routine cleaning or heavier brake dust?

Compare Brake Buster for regular wheel-and-tire care, SONAX wheel cleaners for wheel cleaning and separate dressing for the finished tire sidewall. Choose for the wheel finish.

What is a starting point for normal wheel dirt?

Use a wheel cleaner compatible with the finish and appropriate brushes. P&S Brake Buster is a dedicated wheel-and-tire cleaner; it is not the same product as your paint shampoo or tire dressing.

What if brake dust or iron contamination remains?

Compare a product intended for the contamination, such as an iron-removal product, while checking its approved surfaces. Our collection includes SONAX wheel cleaners and GYEON Iron Redefined. Do not mix them together or automatically use every product in sequence.

Will tire dressing clean the tire?

Cleaning and dressing are separate jobs. Clean and prepare the tire as the chosen dressing requires. Keep dressing off the tread, brakes and other unintended surfaces; a glossy sidewall is not proof of cleaning.

Choose brushes around the wheel design and finish. The tools collection includes detailing brushes; do not substitute a harsh brush just because it fits into the barrel.

A practical starting point

Put your shopping list together.

Choose individual products below, or send a list to Parts to check sizes, quantities and showroom availability. These are suggestions, not pre-packed kits.

Wheel & tire care

Choose a cleaner for the wheel finish, keep the tools separate, then finish the tire sidewalls if desired.

Tell Parts the wheel finish and any coating so they can help choose suitable brushes and an applicator.

Clean first, then dress the sidewalls as directed. Keep cleaner and dressing tools separate from paint-washing tools.

Your next steps

A more controlled wheel-care routine.

Choose your supplies, prepare the work area and follow the selected product’s instructions. Use the steps below to plan the job.

  1. Check the surface first

Identify the wheel finish and any coating. Follow product and wheel-maker guidance; work on cool wheels where directed. If the finish is damaged or unknown, clarify compatibility before proceeding.

  2. Clean without carrying grit onto paint

Use separate wheel tools and follow the product's dwell, agitation and rinsing directions. Do not let the cleaner dry or combine chemicals to increase strength.

  3. Inspect before doing more

After rinsing, inspect what remains. If the issue is etching, corrosion or a failed finish, stop treating it as ordinary dirt. Apply a suitable tire-care product only as a separate intended step.
