The older F22 M240i and newer G42 M240i belong on different generation pages. Supra cylinder-head versions also differ, and later B58TU2 / Gen 3 applications need their own compatibility review.
Engine generation does not determine ECU unlock requirements by itself. Send your year, model, VIN, current tuning platform, modifications and fuel so we can check the actual controller and software.
Dyno testing and any access or unlock work are quoted separately. Transmission tuning is a flat $400 where available.
